Ruby is of Tongan, English and Chinese descent; a Lawyer (Barrister & Solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand); and an Elected Member of the Local Government of New Zealand and Auckland Council.
She has a Bachelor of Arts (major in education) from the University of Auckland, Bachelor of Law from Victoria University of Wellington and a Masters of Law (Honors) from the United States. She is a member of the Whau Local Board and has worked on a number of community events including the Whau Pacific Festival.
Ruby holds the portfolios of Lead Local Government Representative, Regulations & Compliance, Rosebank Business Association, Housing and Community Development & Facilities.
Ruby sits on various Board roles, including the Methodist Church of New Zealand Board of Administration, Convenor for Law Revision, Faith & Order, Wesley College Board of Trustees and Kelston Girls College Board of Trustees.
